Interview Summary
This interview with Casey County (Ky.) Judge Executive Ronald Wright begins with a discussion of his background and family home during his childhood. Wright recalls obtaining water from wells and not having indoor plumbing, as well as the manner in which trash was disposed of. Next, Wright talks about how the problem of illegal dumping in Casey County (Ky.) began and how lifestyle changes influenced the amount of trash created. He then talks about his personal life, recounting his past occupations, as well as talking about his family. Next, Wright explores the topic of environmental clean up efforts in Casey County (Ky.), including efforts to improve water quality and manage waste water. He also talks about being joined for clean up by Congresspersons Ron Lewis and Hal Rogers. Finally, Wright ends the interview by talking about the impact of Eastern Kentucky Personal Responsibility in a Desirable Environment (PRIDE) on environmental clean up efforts in Casey County (Ky.).
