Interview Summary
Charles Shouse, a farmer living on Cane Creek, begins the interview by discussing his return to Cane Creek following a stint in Ohio. Next, Shouse gives a description of several photographs of himself as a child and various family members, as well as an examination of changes to Cane Creek over the years. Then, Shouse talks of snakes in the area, and the home remedies prepared by his grandmother. The interviewee also recounts daily elements of his childhood, such as the types of food they usually ate. The changing dynamics of grocery stores and the now-defunct railroad line in Cane Creek are examined.
