Interview Summary
Mack H. Jones is an African American political scientist and Professor Emeritus at Mississippi Valley State University. In this interview, Jones reflects on his childhood in Louisiana, his parents' emphasis on education, and getting expelled from Southern University for participating in a sit-in demonstration. He speaks about finishing his undergraduate degree at Texas Southern and completing his PhD in political science at University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Serving on the faculties of Texas Southern and Atlanta University and his interest in the philosophy of science are discussed. Jones also talks about his role in the formation of the National Conference of Black Political Scientists.Interview Accession
