Interview Summary
Dr. Darryl Banks, the son of educators, grew up in Hopkinsville during the days of transition from a segregated society to a more integrated one. He is a graduate of the first fully-integrated class of Hopkinsville High School. After attending Coe College, he studied at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. He is a specialist in environmental policy. In this interview, he tells of his experiences growing up as an African American in a Southern town and abroad.Interview Accession
