Interview Summary
Br Raphael Pendergast, like many of the older monks at Gethsemani participated in World War II. He was instrumental in making Gethsemani more solvent by helping develop the famed food products (cheese, fudge, etc.). He was also much loved as a guestmaster, the monk responsible for making guests comfortable during their stay at the monastery.Interview Accession
