Interview Summary

Ms. Stokely, Executive Director of the Board of Claims, begins this interview giving her personal background information, and recalling when she first met Governor Wetherby. She speaks of her work with him, as a secretary, the work environment and of the transition that took place from Governor Clements to Wetherby with in the Governor's Office. Ms. Stokely compares the work habits and patterns of the two governors, the relationships both had with their office hands, and the amount of work produced. She speaks of the Governor's mansion, about the transition in the Governor's office from Wetherby to A.B. Chandler, and her working conditions during the renovation of the capitol. Stokely concludes speaking of her life after she left state government, and giving her last thoughts of the Governor Wetherby.
