Interview Summary

Keith L. Runyon was a writer and editor for The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky for 43 years. He left the newspaper in 2012 and now serves as a media specialist for the Center for Interfaith Relations.

In this interview, Runyon talks about his decades-long friendship with Judge John G. Heyburn II. He discusses how they met, their shared appreciation for history, and his own observations of Judge Heyburn from his vantage points as both a friend and as the opinion editor for The Courier-Journal. Runyon also describes own career path from law into journalism and reflects on his tenure at The Courier-Journal.
