Interview Summary
Dr. Steve Parker talks about his life in Paris, Kentucky, and playing sports, before going off to college to play football at the University of Kentucky, and becoming the first African American football coach at Bryan Station High School in Lexington. He talks about the challenges and good times as both an African American athlete and as a coach, and how he left coaching to become a university professor at UK.Interview Accession
