Interview Summary
An Affirmative Action Officer for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County government, Mr. Morton worked for 33 years at the Bluegrass Army Depot. He graduated from high school in 1941 and served during World War II with the United States Army as an electronics specialist. Mr. Morton discusses his work-related experiences, including race relations and the prejudice he encountered, both at work and in the public park system. The responsibilities of his duties as Affirmative Action Officer are outlined, as is the support accorded to the Equal Employment Opportunity program by the African American community.Interview Accession
