Interview Summary
LaVon Conley talks about life in East Jenkins, a privately owned section of the Jenkins Company coal town. She talks about running Burke's General Store in Rocky Hollow with her mother and siblings. She gives a description of shopping, the store itself, and their relationship with customers and other stores. She talks about getting married, raising a family, getting her cosmetology degree, and discusses race and class dynamics in East Jenkins.
