Interview Summary
Genie Sherman Walker attended Lafayette High School in Lexington, KY before enrolling at the University of Kentucky before her 16th birthday in 1970. She left U.K. before completing her degree and moved to New York City to begin her career as a professional singer. In this interview she discusses the 2020 Presidential Election, the January 6th, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol Building, the inauguration of President Joseph R. Biden, the 2020-2021 pandemic, attending Lafayette High School, becoming an activist, the civil rights movement, and the Vietnam War.Interview Accession
