Interview Summary
Charles P. Roland interviews Albert B. "Happy" Chandler for the Chandler Project, with the goal of writing a biography about Chandler. Chandler is a former Kentucky Governor, Baseball Commissioner, and U.S. Senator. Chandler discusses the latter half of his political career, including his unsuccessful bids for governor throughout the 1960s and 1970s as well as his involvement in state politics. He discusses other aspects of his career, including his close relationship with Rose Kennedy; his decision to support Louie B. Nunn, a Republican candidate, for governor in 1967; and his time on the Board of Trustees at the University of Kentucky during the 1960s and 1970s.Interview Accession
