Interview Summary
Elmer Tarter came to the University of Kentucky in 1908 and graduated with a degree in education in 1913. In this interview he discusses his first impressions of the university, his favorite professors and classes, and the difficulties the university administration had with rebellious students. He talks about President James K. Patterson, and compares him to President Barker. He talks about social clubs, athletics, and events on campus. He talks about the strict policies of the university administration and faculty. He talks about political views on campus and discusses the role of women at the university.Interview Accession
