Interview Summary
Neil Rosenberg is the author of several books, including "Bluegrass: A History," "Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys: An Illustrated Discography," and "Bluegrass Odyssey," among others. He is also a Grammy-winner for his liner notes in Harry Smith's "Anthology of American Folk Music." Throughout this interview he speaks on these works as well as his early exposure to music, his introduction to folk music at Oberlin College as well as how he became interested in bluegrass. He discusses the various bluegrass bands he has played with throughout his career, including playing banjo occasionally with Bill Monroe at Bean Blossom. He also discusses his personal as well as his academic interest in bluegrass and folk music.Interview Accession
