Interview Summary
T.R. Moseley began attending the University of Kentucky in September of 1942. As a native of Lexington he had visited the campus prior to enrolling there, but discusses his impressions of the campus environment. He talks about the hazing activities that occurred at the university during his freshman year. He talks about some of his favorite professors and classes, and compares university presidents Donovan and McVey.Moseley talks about the social and cultural activities available for students on campus. He talks about his own involvement in the Sigma Chi fraternity and discusses the role of Greek organizations on campus. He talks about some of the places students used to hang out in town.
He discusses whether there was interest in politics on campus. He talks about the role of women on campus as instructors and as students, and discusses the opinions on discrimination at the time. He talks about the role of athletics at the university and discusses the difficulty of being a student athlete.
