Interview Summary
Walt Robertson, auctioneer, realtor, and former president of Fasig-Tipton, is the son of legendary Saddlebred horseman Jim B. Robertson. He shares stories of his childhood and discusses his father's career. Robertson explains how he became an auctioneer, shares early sales experiences, discusses working for Tattersalls (Saddlebred auction), and traces his career at Fasig-Tipton beginning in 1975 as a bid spotter. He reflects on mentors George Swinebroad and J.T. Denton and purchasing the real estate company Swinebroad-Denton in 1989 with partner Ryan Mahan. Robertson tells of selling Calumet in 1982.Interview Accession
