Interview Summary
In his interview, Cal Grayson talksabout being raised in Woodford County, his service during World War II in the Army Corps, and his educational route to becoming a civil engineer. Grayson has lived in Lexington his entire life while working for the thirty years in the Department of Transportation in Frankfort, Kentucky. In 1977, he was named Secretary of Transportation. He discusses the Transportation Research Center at the University of Kentucky and Advantage I-75, the project coordinating six state D.O.Ts. Grayson explains concern because of the weight of trucks and demise and the need for rails. In addition, Janna discusses growing up in the Lansdowne neighborhood.Interview Accession
