Interview Summary

Elaine Hume Bryden from Northern Kentucky met her husband, John Rennie Bryden, at Transylvania University. He was from Michigan and was recruited by Dr. Ernest Delcamp to be in the band. He received his doctorate from the University of Michigan, went to Illinois, then Michigan, and finally asked to come back to Transylvania as academic dean. He hired Les Versaw to build them a home on Malabu - the last house at that time, and they had cows for neighbors. They raised two children in Lansdowne Neighborhood.
