Interview Summary

A.D. Albright discusses University of Kentucky funding issues as of 1989, and media coverage. He states that the university needs to be concerned with the effectiveness of state and local government. He describes the growing importance of diversity education in institutions of higher learning and UK in particular. He talks about the honors program that he helped to establish at Northern Kentucky University and explains how he cut the number of graduate programs while he was president at Morehead State University. Albright also talks about the political role of community colleges, and college entrance exam testing.
