Interview Summary

This interview with retired librarian Gail White begins with a discussion of her childhood. She talks about when and where she was born and describes her childhood home, which was a log cabin. She then talks about what she did for recreation, and proceeds to tell several stories that took place during her formative years. Next, White talks about harvesting kudzu on her family's farm, and growing crops such as corn and tobacco. White also describes how her family obtained water from a creek and used an outhouse. White then moves on to talk about environmental issues, such as how her trash is currently disposed of and about the importance of keeping the water supply clean. Finally, White discusses recycling materials, giving several examples from her life.
