Interview Summary
Walter D. Huddleston discusses his career as a United States Senator for Kentucky during the 1970s. He talks about the challenges of being a Senator, particularly during the Watergate scandal of 1972-1974 and the energy crisis which persisted throughout the decade. He discusses the economic difficulties of being a Senator with a family, as well as the particulars of politics in Congress during the 1970s and 1980s.
