Interview Summary

Faulkner discusses her family and growing up in her childhood home on a farm in Martin County. Faulkner talks about the location and layout of the home and the property around it. She discusses her chores during her childhood, including sweeping the yard. Faulkner also talks about her family's move to Stanton and her eventual move to Cane Creek. Faulkner talks about homemaking and serving her husband. Faulkner discusses her religious and political views. Faulkner talks about growing up poor and the effect it had on her. Faulkner also discusses the importance of the environment and of learning to grow food. Faulkner talks about issues with the judicial system. Faulkner discusses her family's healthcare and various home remedies her mother used when she was growing up. Finally, Faulkner discusses living on the farm a bit more, including canning, hogs being butchered for food, and burying coal ashes.
