Interview Summary

In this interview, James Monroe Green discusses the time he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps through his recovery at Naval Station Great Lakes from a grenade explosion in Vietnam. He describes what is was like as a nineteen year old recruit training for war, leaving the United States, attaching to a deployed unit, and living in the jungles of Vietnam for approximately nine months. Green describes the Battle of Hill 110 and the day he was wounded and evacuated out of Vietnam.
