Interview Summary
In this interview Edith Easterling discusses the War on Poverty and how the projects affected the local community in Pike County. She discusses the relationships between the local people and the local power structure. She talks about how the VISTA workers interacted with the local people and how the War on Poverty tried to get the locals involved. She talks about why Joe Mulloy was fired from the Appalachian Volunteers and the rift that occurred between the AVs and the Council of the Southern Mountains.
