Interview Summary

Sizemore discusses his musical influences, including his mother, Bill Monroe, Benny Martin, and the big bands of his youth. Sizemore lists the various bands he has played in and the people he has played with. Sizemore describes some of his solo recording projects. The importance of 3/4 time in bluegrass music is discussed. Notable fiddle players, clarinet players, and guitar players are also mentioned. Sizemore considers how rock music has impacted bluegrass. Sizemore also provides some advice to young bluegrass musicians. He mentions his favorite songwriters in bluegrass, as well as favorite vocalists and guitar players.
