Interview Summary
Doris Wilkinson talks about how she had no car and had to ride on the greyhound bus from Cleveland to Kent, Ohio during college. Because of this, she would always be a chapter ahead and got asked to be an instructor full time. She talks about the lack of African American instructors at the time. She discusses her work with families and people of color in the field of sociology. She talks about racial issues and discrimination in Lexington, Kentucky. She talks about the small number of black students at the University of Kentucky and discusses other issues at UK. She talks about her plans for the future.Interview Accession
