Interview Summary
Edwin Foote worked for the Seagram Company for many years before becoming the Master Distiller at the Stitzel-Weller Distillery. In this interview he discusses his educational background and how he came to work for Seagram. He talks about his job duties as a beer chemist and the process of ensuring the quality of the product during each step of the distilling process.Foote discusses how he became the Master Distiller at Stitzel-Weller and describes his job duties. He talks about the unique atmosphere at the Stitzel-Weller Distillery. He discusses some of the major contributors to the bourbon industry, including Al Young, Ova Haney, Pappy Van Winkle, and Jim Rutledge.
