Interview Summary

This interview with Bluegrass musicians J.D. Crowe and Ronnie Reno begins with a discussion of their backgrounds and how they became interested in Bluegrass music. Reno then expounds on his band, The New South. Reno talks about leaving his father's band to work with the Osborne Brothers and Merle Haggard. Reno then talks about his relationship with the Monroe family and Crowe talks about attending the first Bluegrass music festival in Berryville (Va.). Crowe then expounds on the changes that Bluegrass has undergone since the 1950s. They then talk about recording their own albums.
