Interview Summary

Dr. William Lipscomb was a chemistry major student who attended the University of Kentucky on a half tuition scholarship for marching band. He talks about student life at UK, as well as his achievements in the field of science. He talks about moving to California Institute of Technology (Caltech), where he was living when the attack on Pearl Harbor occurred in 1941. He talks about his research into military technology during World War II and how the war affected his life.
