Interview Summary

Thomas Nantz came to the University of Kentucky in 1933 and graduated in 1937 with a degree in industrial chemistry. In this interview he discusses his decision to attend the University of Kentucky, and his family history at the university. He talks about some of his favorite professors in the chemistry and physics departments. He talks about his career in industrial chemistry after graduation.

Nantz talks about the social aspects of college life, including his involvement in the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity, and attending dances with his future wife. He talks about the atmosphere on campus during the Great Depression and the buildup to World War II, and the creation of a group called the Veterans of Future Wars.

Nantz talks about his position as a University Fellow and his continued involvement with the University of Kentucky. He talks about his family, including his children that have also attended UK.
