Interview Summary
Vimont talks about how there wasn't much money invested in the tennis program when he started coaching. He talks about the tennis facilities and the building of the new courts. Vimont talks about starting a conditioning program and how that improved the team's performance. He talks about their scholarships and recruiting up north, as UK was the most northern school in the SEC. Vimont talks about his successful team members and what they contributed to the tennis programs. He talks about how things have changed in tennis over the years. He talks about when they placed third in the SEC Championship and tells a story about Auburn University and the University of Alabama. Vimont talks about the rivalry against Georgia University and talks about Georgia's clay courts. He talks about coaching in the 1960s and how there were problems with drug and alcohol use.
