Interview Summary
Dr. Jacqueline Campbell grew up in Lexington, Kentucky. Her father was a pilot and her mother was a housewife. She was the oldest of seven children. Dr. Campbell talks about growing up, going to high school and college, then dropping out to become a wife and mother. She returned to college as a nontraditional student. Campbell decided to go to school after losing a bet with her husband that she wouldn’t be accepted into medical school. She talks about going to medical school, specialty training, and balancing her professional career as a pediatrician with family life. Dr. Campbell was one of 9 women in a class of 85 students.Interview Accession
