Interview Summary

Jon Hesseldenz (Vice President, Information Technology) became a Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) employee in 1998, first as assistant vice president, and then vice president for information technology; he retired in 2006. In this interview, Hesseldenz discusses his educational and professional background in higher education and computing. He speaks about President McCall and the KCTCS board's early decision to use the same operating systems throughout KCTCS. Hesseldenz talks about the implementation of student, financial and human resource systems and choosing PeopleSoft software. His later work in institutional research at KCTCS and the high-caliber of his colleagues and President McCall are also discussed.
