Interview Summary
Venus Niza came from Ivory Coast directly to Lexington, Kentucky on a Diversity Visa with her husband in 2012. Now the mother of two young children, she is completing her Associate Degree in Chemistry at Bluegrass Community and Technical College and plans to begin studying Chemical Engineering at University of Kentucky in fall 2017. She talks about growing up in Ivory Coast, her schooling up to an associate degree at the university there until war in 2010 closed the university. She talks about adjusting to the U.S. in Lexington. She has kept her dress and food from Ivory Coast but embraced educational opportunities here.Interview Accession
