Interview Summary
Mr. Warford recounts his family history and the family stories about slavery and white ancestors. He discusses his father's reputation within the community and his impact upon Warford's life. A World War Two army veteran, Mr. Warford recalls his military experiences, and how segregation effected Madison County. He discusses the impact of the civil rights movement upon the African American community in Richmond, and comments upon the changes in education and politics. Mr. Warford recalls his religious upbringing, church related activities shared with his wife and family, and how the African American church has changed since the 1940s.Interview Accession
