Interview Summary

Hal Schumacher was a Major League baseball player from 1931-1946. In this interview, he discusses the effect that World War II had on his career as a baseball player, his career after the war, player defections to the Mexican League, Major League players he knew, ways that baseball has changed since the 1930s, Baseball Commissioners Chandler and Landis, and how other players reacted to Jackie Robinson's playing Major League baseball.
