Interview Summary

Loretta Lynn gives a brief oral history of her background in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky and her singing career. Lynn discusses her upbringing in Butcher Hollow, and describes what life was like for residents. She goes on to discuss the experience of doing press for the movie Coal Miner's Daughter, which was based on her life, and the changes she's seen in Butcher Hollow and country music. The interviews in this collection were conducted by middle school students as part of an educational media project under the direction of Henderson County North Middle School teacher Roy Pullam.
