Patricia A. "Pat" Scott Oral History Project

Project Summary

Patricia Ann "Pat" Scott (July 14, 1929 – October 19, 2016) was a baseball pitcher. Born in Covington, Kentucky, Scott was raised in a family farm located in the nearby town of Burlington. At 17, she tried out for and made the Fort Wayne Daisies team, part of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. She played in the League over four seasons 1948–1953. Listed at 5 ft 7 in (1.70 m), 155 lb., she batted and threw right-handed. Later, she played basketball for the University of Kentucky while earning a degree in Zoology. After that, in addition to serving as a Phlebotomist for Dr. Luke Homagomi's office in Cincinnati, OH, she was a horse trainer, dog trainer, and former County Extension Agent in Boone County, KY. Her many hobbies included, golfing, fishing, shooting, archery, bowling, painting, and intricate wood carving. She was also a participant in the Walton-Verona Senior Dulcimer Group, as well as played several other musical instruments.
