Interview with Melissa Weaver, July 5, 2017
Project: Sara Holroyd Oral History Project
Interview Summary
In this interview, Collins interviews Melissa Weaver, a choral director in Louisville, Kentucky. Weaver discusses her rich musical background; a result of being raised by two parents who were both very involved musically. She also talks about how that musical influence has been passed down to her own children, most of whom have pursued music-related careers themselves. She also talks about the influence both Sara Holroyd and Phyllis Jenness have had on her musical experience and how she has incorporated their teachings into her professional career. She especially mentions Holroyd's strength and charisma, and that her dedication to her students was unrivaled.Interview Accession
