Interview Summary
The Director of Cunningham Funeral Home, Mr. Hobbs previously owned a funeral home in Versailles for 23 years and became a mortician in 1937 when funerals took place in the home. This practice arose from an unwritten agreement between white and African American funeral homes due to discrimination. Mr. Hobbs discusses the problems still faced by African American funeral homes.Interview Accession
