Interview Summary
Nancy Ray grew up in St. Matthews in Jefferson County, Kentucky, and graduated from Eastern High School in 1959. She enrolled at the University of Chicago that fall before transferring to the University of Louisville in the fall of 1961 where she earned a BA in Social Studies. Ray enrolled at the University of Wisconsin and earned an MA in History in 1965 and a post-Masters certification in Counseling Psychology in 1966. She was hired by the University of Kentucky shortly thereafter as an Administrative Associate in the Dean of Women's Office. In 1967 she was appointed Assistant Dean of Students and worked under the Dean of Student Affairs, Jack Hall. In this interview she discusses her experiences at the University of Chicago from 1959-1961.Interview Accession
