Project: University of Kentucky Oral History Project
Interview Summary
William Williams, headmaster of Sayre School, explains the early beginnings of Sayre, focusing on how the school was started and what it is like now. Williams says that private schools are all created differently and used to fulfill a specific goal for their students; some private schools are not better than a public education and are based on profit. He compares Sayre School to the high school affiliated with the University of Kentucky at the time. He talks about why parents send their children to Sayre, Sayre's impact on the community, and the quality of teachers at Sayre.Interview Accession
