Interview Summary

Smucker interviewed
Finkel about her time in the 1970s and 1980s acquiring quilts from Old Order
Amish families. She worked closely with David Riehl, an Amish man from
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, who bought quilts from his co-religionists and
sold them to city-based antiques dealers including Finkel. Finkel co-operated
M. Finkel and Daughter, a Philadelphia antiques shop specializing in folk art.
