Interview Summary
John Phillips discusses the history of Darby Dan Farm (a site in Kentucky previously known as Idle Hour Stock Farm) and the horsemen, stallions, and mares associated. Notably, he talks about his grandfather, John W. Galbraith, whom, in addition to starting Darby Dan Farm, also owned the Pittsburgh Pirates. He talks about imported European champions Ribot and Sea-Bird and Galbraith's win of both the Kentucky and Epsom Derbies.Interview release date September 24, 2019.
