Interview Summary
Mike Key interviews former Scott County Judge-Executive George Lusby, who held his office for many years until his retirement on December 31, 2018. Lusby briefly discusses his early life in Georgetown, Kentucky, his education, and his careers in education and public service. He discusses Toyota's arrival in 1985 and how it changed Scott County. Lusby also details the history of the proposed Lytle's Fork Reservoir in Scott County, the steps taken to prepare for its construction, and losing the battle with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Louisville office to obtain a permit to begin the reservoir's construction.Interview Accession
