Interview Summary

Barry Bernson is a former news anchor, reporter and sometime actor. Much of his career has been in Louisville but he also worked in Chicago chronicling human interest stories in a manner that reminded many of Charles Kuralt. Barry Bernson began his career as a radio news anchor for WAVE-970, and moved into broadcast journalism on WAVE-TV in 1970. He moved to Chicago in 1976 to become a reporter and movie critic for WMAQ-TV, where he also contributed to NBC News Overnight with Linda Ellerbee. Barry Bernson is the host/writer/producer of "A History of Kentucky in 25 Objects" (Kentucky Educational TV, 2014). He is also the author of "Bernson's Corner: A Reporter's Notebook" (Butler Books, 2012).
