Interview Summary
Zhihui Zhang is an archives and preservation doctoral student from Renmin University of China, Beijing. Zhang reflects on her experiences and activities during her year as a visiting scholar in the University of Kentucky Libraries Special Collections Research Center. She discusses her various activities in archives both on and off-campus in Kentucky. She discusses the archival topics she explored through readings, hands-on activities, and discussions with her supervisor, Ruth Bryan, an archivist at the University of Kentucky. She describes what she has enjoyed about her visit, what challenged her, what she learned, and what surprised her. Zhang and Bryan also spend part of the interview delving into the specifics of different levels of preservation in China versus in the United States.Interview Accession
