Interview Summary
Phil Levy was a Peace Corps Volunteer in El Salvador from 1974 to 1976. Phil was a Biology/Pre-Vet Major at Kansas State University where he received his BS in Biology in 1974. In his Senior year at KState he attended a Peace Corps presentation and subsequently applied. He was accepted to serve in El Salvador as a High School Teacher Trainer/ Lab Organizer. Ten weeks of training was in San Salvador while living with a local family. Phil then worked at three different locations in El Salvador. Phil enjoyed exploring remote towns, visiting beaches and climbing Volcanoes, traveling to Guatemala, Honduras and Roatan Island. He enjoyed getting to know local people and their culture and customs. After returning, Phil attended graduate school and became engaged and later married an El Salvadorian woman. He had a long career teaching High School Science. He remained involved with Returned Peace Corps groups and helped with recruitment events.Interview Accession
