Interview Summary

Angelika Weaver, a victim advocate for the Williamsburg police department, was interviewed on January 8, 2022 as part of the Stories of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Kentucky Oral History Project. Weaver describes her background as in Williamsburg, the relationship between her American father and her Gilbertese mother, and her experiences with otherness and racism growing up. She goes on to talk about her community in Kentucky, visiting Kiribati, and how COVID-19 has affected her work and home life.
