Interview Summary
Thomas briefly discusses her personal family history. She talks about the state of education for Black students, including the segregation of Black children into their own schools. She discusses the Black community in Midway, including the businesses they owned and operated. She talks about the hobbies and games they participated in as children. She discusses the music education and musical ensembles that they participated in. She discusses the state of their house, including how they got water and dealt with the outhouses. She talks about what they ate when she was a child. Thomas says when she met her husband he was in college and they fell in love, got married, and lived in Midway. They discuss the undertaker, funerals, and wakes in Midway.Interview Accession
